8 weeks telling colleague?

I’m a teaching assistant and i have been hit hard by morning sickness. I am only 8 weeks and wanted to wait till 12 to announce but i keep feeling like i should tell my class teacher as i feel like i’ve been useless the last few weeks! Any others told a colleague early?? i don’t know what to do.

I told my boss the same day I found out. I’ve had miscarriages in the past and she is aware. If anything happened and I had to call in or leave work, I didn’t want there to be any confusion. It was earlier than we wanted to tell anyone, but we also felt it was necessary to be open with my managers. I’m really glad I did because my doctor had me doing ultrasounds every week for a little while to monitor growth and the heartbeat; and my boss was very understanding and accommodating through all of that! ☺️

I had to tell my team, they keep asking to go out partying, and I’m like... I want to party in pajamas, eyes closed...

I told mine at 5 weeks. I work in care and there is violent male residents there so I had to. ever since I've told them I've been hated and discriminated against which sucks but life goes on. In a year's time I'll be with child no2 on maternity leave and loving life while the people there will be doing the same old things.

I’m also a teaching assistant and told the teacher I work with at about 6 weeks. Just incase I didn’t feel too good. 
It’s really hard though because I wanted to keep it a secret for so much longer. 
Glad I did tell her because soon after then I started to feel really sick 🤢

I think that’s ok, just maybe let your colleague know you’re not planning to share the news elsewhere yet and just ask that she keeps it between you two. It should go without saying, but many times it doesn’t

I told my boss and the person in charge of scheduling (who I have to tell if I have to leave for an appointment) right away. They both knew when I miscarried and it was great having them in my corner, so I didn’t feel the need to hold off and wait. 
I told a few friends at work around 6 weeks when I had to switch patients because of it. Then I started announcing to all my coworkers at 10 weeks, mainly because another work friend started announcing then too (she’s 2 weeks ahead of me) so we kind of announced together.

Yes I’ve told my immediate team (4 ppl) because I work with them everyday and I cudnt stand them no knowing.
