Weird initials??

My husband and I finally decided on naming our baby girl 
💕Oaklie Joan Thomas💕 
It very important to my husband to name her after his mother. Which I adore his mother and want to honor her as well. His mother hates her first name so we went with her middle name “Joan” . Which I think the name is cute all together,  but two people have commented that her initials are “OJ” which is not really what I was going for.... and I don’t want to give baby girl a name she will be teased for. What do you guys think?

I don't see it as her initials being OJ. They're either OT or OJT. I've never ever used just my first and middle initials without my last initial. Never even though about it.

Only adults of a certain age will notice or point out those initials. No child she grows up with will have any idea who that is. I think you’re fine. Her name is cute.

My son’s name is Owen James and his initials are obviously OJ...which i will admit bothered me at first as well, but James is my dad’s and grandfather’s first name so i knew i wanted to use it anyway! My husband calls my son “juice” all the time...it’s kinda cute and plus i figured most likely the only people who would even consider the OJ Simpson reference would be adults over a certain age! By the time he is school aged, i don’t think kids will even know who OJ is! So I’d keep Your daughter’s name just as you’ve planned it, it’s a beautiful name!! 💗😍

I also don’t care for OJ initials, I avoided it with our sons name as it makes me think of O.J. Simpson.
I really don’t think your daughter will be made fun of at all and most her age will not know of him to associate her initials.
Now if you’re think OJ as in orange juice, that’s cool and again wouldn’t be made fun of.
Side note...I knew only my best friends name in school and no one else’s. So that really lowers the being made fun of your middle name 🙈

As a kid my initials were HAD. Now that I’m married, they’re HAS. never gotten teased for it 😁

Honestly no one will probably remember her initials after you announce the birth. Unless you do a hashtag for her. My initials growing up we’re KTB and no one ever called me Katie “KT” and most never knew my middle name unless asked. At least her initials won’t spell out something bad like ASS lol

No, I think it’s a beautiful name and honestly when I was reading it I thought “what’s weird about that”. OJ didn’t even cross my mind lol

I think for a kid the first thought of OJ that will come to mind is orange juice! Also OJ is from our generation - by the time your kid is in school that will be a thing of the past! The name you chose is cute and has special meaning to you both, so go forward with it :)
