anyone had a low hcg test 4 days before af?

so we did and IUI procedure this month. along with the follicle scan and Trigger injection. Everything looked promising. on Friday I had a couple hours worth of really bad cramping and nausea. because I have a history of multiple ectopic pregnancies my doctor asked me to get a pregnancy test HCG blood draw. Friday it was under 2. today it was 4.4. I'm pretty sure this is still considered negative but usually when my negatives are tested they're under 2. I'm set to start my period in 4 days. has anyone ever experienced something similar? How did it turn out? Pregnant? Miscarriage? Ectopic? Or am I just hoping for something that's not logical? I'm okay with any answer it just sucks to have to wait another week cuz that's what the doctors ordered. thank you for any advice or help.
