Breastfeeding moms- when did you have first drink?

I feel terrible for even thinking about a glass of wine just 3 weeks PP but let’s be real, being a new mom is stressful and I feel like we deserve a small glass of wine here and there.  I’m just scared and nervous to cause I’m bf and don’t want it to cross over to the baby.  How long did you wait until first drink?

I don’t want to drink until I’m done breastfeeding. For one, more weight loss, and I don’t pump so I don’t want to “pump and dump”. Fortunately, I don’t crave alcohol.

I don't drink, but I've been told that alcohol leaves breast milk just like it leaves blood streams. So basically if you feel as if you are good enough to drive, you can still nurse. I'm guessing that means you can have a drink pretty soon. Personally, if I did drink, I would not do it while nursing. I'm careful about everything that I put into my body now as a breastfeeding mom (I've ALWAYS been really careful about what I eat and drink), but I'm EXTRA careful now. However, that's just me! I know being a new mom is stressful haha so you may need that drink. My sorority sister had her first drink about six weeks after she had her baby.

I had a glass of wine 1 week PP and now I have a glass of wine or a beer every other night or so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 3 weeks PP and EBF

The alcohol leaves your milk in the same way it leaves your blood stream, so if you feel okay to drive then it’s safe to nurse. 
A glass of wine won’t hurt, but I definitely wouldn’t drink the whole bottle without planning ahead of time. 🤣

About a month in. It was thanksgiving so I couldn’t not partake in wine! I just pumped before and gave him that milk.

I've been told it depends on your tolerance some. If you don't feel anything after a half glass or a whole, you're fine. This does not mean however to down a half bottle because that's how much before you get tipsy lol. Also wouldn't do it daily but a little here and there is not enough to cause issues in breastmilk. At least this is what I've been told by other mamas. Maybe Google it just to be safe?
