Anyone exclusively using a nipple shield?

My baby is 10 days old and we have been using a nipple shield for 8 days now. She was getting so frustrated in the hospital and would refuse my nipple to the point the lactation consultant had me try the shield. She does AMAZING with it but I’m just wondering is it something you use long term?

I’ve been discouraged from using them, but I’ve been using it for a month. My daughter was very bitey at first, and I was in quite a lot of pain when she was first born. She’s gotten better but still chomps down sometimes so I keep using it.

I used mine just shy of a year. Best thing ever!

I did. I have inverted nipples so I had to use it.
