So I’m naming my baby Maverick. My boyfriends mother thinks he’s gunna get made of in school cause of his name. I personally don’t think so. It really pisses me off that she said that.

I've had a few Mavericks in my classes. They never got made fun of. they were quite popular actually. BUT all 4 of them were BIIIIIG handfuls.

Every name can be made fun of. I named my son Huck and everyone said he’s going to be made fun of. But if he’s gonna get picked on for his name I think he was gonna be picked on anyways, the name didn’t make a difference.

I don’t think kids would pick on him coming from a teacher’s standpoint but... maybe just use it as his nickname and not legal name. Makes me think of ‘Gunner’ for some reason.
