Brushing babies teeth?

Anyways, Hi! my baby (8 months) has her first tooth poking through and I know it’s time to start brushing :) google is giving me very mixed answers so I just wanted to see what the majority of people do here to take care of their little ones teeth at such a young age! Do I use a little amount of baby toothpaste to brush her teeth? Or just water? Thank you for anyone that answers ❤️

I was told to use training toothpaste until they can spit the toothpaste out bcz of fluoride

They make teeth & gum cleansers, which I use. Specifically made for babies. Then training toothpaste when they’re old enough

Well my pediatrician told me to use water that has fluoride in it so I'd assume tooth paste would with it would be okay. ask your pediatrician to be sure.

We did just water at first but at my sons 9 month doctors visit they told us to start using toothpaste. They actually told me to use fluoride toothpaste. Just about a pea sized amount since the baby will obviously swallow it. Again at his 12 month visit they reminded us to use fluoride toothpaste. I am a little skeptical about that so I have a fluoride free one as well and I alternate what I use on my son.

Right now our daughter has 2 bottom teeth at 7 months and we are just doing water. 
I’ve thought about toothpaste but at this point I just want her to get used to us being in her mouth. But do whatever feels right for you mama!
