TMI, Periods randomly too long?

Does anyone else have irregular periods that last too long? Like sometimes 2 weeks long or even a month long? I have been having this issue the last few years since I have some condition that I have a severe hormonal imbalance.

It's always started off light for a few days, goes to medium for a day or two, then almost crime scene heavy for three or four days, back down to a medium flow, and abruptly stops after one light day. A normal one for tends to be about 2 weeks long. Birth control hasnt helped remedy this issue at all. With having a hormone imbalance and chronic ovarian cysts it is a pain to feel normal at all...Also is there any remedies that anyone does to shorten theirs that seems to work? It would be nice to have a shorter one more regularly.
