Bleeding over a week before period?

Today at work, I went to the restroom to pee and when I wiped, I noticed that I was bleeding a small amount with a little clotting. I wiped myself off and got a tampon, but when I changed it, there wasn’t any more blood.

I know you can spot before your period but usually I don’t do so that early and it’s more just a little pink, not like a moderate amount of spotting.

Any idea what this would be?
