My husbands biological father abandoned him when he was about 2 years old, they never really had a relationship beyond that point.

Recently, we were informed that his father has passed away. He’s conflicted about going to the memorial service at a bar (we live a few states away from where it’s being held). I’m worried that he won’t be welcomed there as he wasn’t close to any of his fathers family or friends, but support whatever decision he makes.

So my question is- would you go? Or skip it because you weren’t apart of their life?
