do babies usually need nicu care if born at 37 weeks?

I know all babies are different, I guess I'm just looking for your experiences if you had your baby at 37 or even 38 weeks!

There are babies who are boring full term that need nicu stay. My daughter was born at 35 weeks and had no nicu stay. It all just depends on the baby.

No not necessarily. Mine was 37+2. He was fine after birth till 2 hours after I fed him. His sugar dropped and they took him to the NICU for 7 hours to make sure his sugars were back to normal and stayed there. If it wasn’t for his sugars he would of never went to NICU.

I’ve had one at 36 weeks and also one at 38 weeks. Neither of them needed any time in the NICU. I’ve also had one at 32 weeks, and he required a full month in the NICU. I have heard of some 36-37 week babies needing time in there, but it isn’t as often as babies who are under 36 weeks gestation.

I was induced at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia and my daughter was absolutely fine. We took her home the next day
