Primrose oil??

Anyone using it? Side effects? Does it help soften cervix?? Everyone is saying it helps induce labor? Is it safe?

I’ve been taking it orally twice a day since 36 weeks per my midwife. At 37 weeks I was already 75% effaced.. idk if the primrose is helping or not. I know a lot of people insert it vaginally, but my midwife said it was better to take it orally. It won’t induce labor before you are ready but it helps tone muscle fibers and soften the cervix

I heard of it softening the cervix. But I took it before pregnancy, it gave me terrible headaches and cramps. So I’m planning not to take it during pregnancy. You could drink red raspberry leaf tea instead. I heard it does the same thing.

Took it last year when I was 36 weeks pregnancy, didn’t really soften my cervix but definitely helped me not tear down there. I was taking 1 orally and 1 in vagina, punctured it and massage around it before inserting.

I use it to help my skins, have for many years, never heard of it helping labour
