Breastfeeding beginner

Hi everyone, I was wondering how to differentiate the succion reflex of a newborn to hunger. My baby girl is now 2 weeks and 2 days old and sometimes starts sucking an hour after a feeding.

I gave her a pacifier and she fell asleep right away. Does this mean she only wanted something to suck on and wasn’t actually hungry? Or should I have tried breastfeeding her first?
