Did you tell your partner as soon as you found out ? Or did you wait ?

My partners upset with me because I withheld the positive test for a couple days before I told him..
I feel like I have every right to. I have 1 child on my own and I’m school full time plus I was on birth control so the chances of a miscarriage are high. It’s nerve wrecking and I needed to process it. Does he have a right to be upset with me? I don’t feel wrong about it at all..should I ?

Just because you were on birth control doesn’t mean you have a higher rate of having a miscarriage at all. Plenty of people get pregnant being on birth control and never  lose the child or even know they are pregnant for a couple of months.

I'd be upset if roles were reversed. I'd want to know at least that day, not days after. 
with our daughter I told him as soon as he came home from work. with the pregnancy in March (we miscarried) I told him as soon as he walked in the door that day. 
with this pregnancy, I was on the phone with him while I took it. I couldn't imagine not telling him at least that day.

The first time I told him within an hour, the second time I told him that day, possibly within an hour. The third time I waited two days because he had his make-or-break his PhD Oral Exams and I didn’t want him stressed or distracted. He understood and thanked me for making that choice bc it was “probably the right one.” I told him at our post-exam celebration lunch.

I get that you needed to process it but yes he does have a right to be mad because you didn’t tell him right away because he has every right to know since he played a big part in it as well. I called my husband upstairs to look at the test because I was in shock.

Seems like a silly reason to be mad.. in my opinion.. especially since it was only a few days. 
I waited a little more than a day to tell my husband (cause I was in shock) and he didn’t care at all. 
But everyone is different.. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think so. You told him in a few days, not like you waited months or anything crazy. I told my husband right away with both our babies so far but I couldn’t keep it to myself. The first was an ivf baby and I was just too excited to finally be pregnant. With our second that I’m currently pregnant with it was a surprise natural pregnancy and I was in such shock I just ran downstairs and showed him the test. We have a 7 mo (5mo at the time I found out). He’ll get over it. Just give him some time.

I dont live with my partner, he lives over an hour away from me. We had plans for the weekend and I was just going to gather myself & my thoughts before I saw him to tell him then. My doctor was the one who told me about higher rates of miscarriage on the IUD.. I didn’t think me even getting pregnant was possible..
