Who else is up this hour?? 😴

Anyone else wide awake? My baby is 7 weeks old it’s 5am he cried to be picked up  kicked his blanket off cooed and talked away to himself in his Moses basket. As soon as I look down at him he smiles lol he stays awake almost every night until 5 am sleeps all day. 
 I was told to keep him awake all day so he will sleep al night 
But that’s not possible lol he’s not 7 weeks yet. 
Anyone else the same situation? 😂😂😂😂😴

You can’t keep them awake at this age they need the sleep. My baby hates diaper changes so every three hours I wake her by changing her then give her a bottle and I keep her in the brightest room in our house all day and make a bunch of noise which isn’t hard with my two year old running around lol and at night I keep the lights down and finally go to our super dark bedroom after my oldest is asleep.

So I read that itsnot so much keeping them awake but don't let them nap longer than 2 hours at a time during the day

My 5 week old refuses to nap very long most days, he takes little cat naps and I’m lucky if I can get him down for an hour or longer. He’s sleeps a total of 10-12 hours most days. At night he usually sleeps in 2 hour blocks, and my pediatrician said he would actually sleep better at night if he got better sleep during the day. So I’m trying desperately to get him to take longer naps!!

Amanda my son Is 6 weeks and am experiencing the very same thing. I was adviced by my doctor to sleep when he sleeps  during the day because he stays awake from 01:00 am till past 4 or 5 when people are going to school or work that's when he sleeps. The Dr said the sleeping patterns will change until he plays during day and sleeps at night.Am trying to adjust to His sleeping patterns though tiring but need to be patient. There was a time I thought I should keep him awake but it didn't work he sleeps either way.
