OKPS How long do you test?

so this was my first month of testing and I had pretty clear results ...all faint lines until one day both were equally dark, the next day the test line was darker than control. no questioning 🤷‍♀️. the day after that it was back to a faint line so my window had closed. Or so I thought?

I keep seeing you girls with lines jumping around not knowing what day you really ovulated and now I'm wondering...should I have continued testing? How many days out of your cycle do you test? Am I doing this wrong? Could I be missing opportunities?
