Do you sleep in the same bed/bedroom or different bed/bedroom?

Just wanting to see how normal it is to sleep in different beds/rooms. Me and my boyfriend both have sleep issues so we sleep in different bedrooms. My parents also have sleep issues and always have slept in different rooms. Maybe that is just what I am used to... but I think it’s not that uncommon right? What’s your vote?

My mom and step dad did this and I always thought it was wierd.
Me and my husband like our space when we are sleeping so we got a king size bed and I am a big asshole with blanket stealing so we have our own blankets but I love waking up in the middle of the night and seeing him lying next to me and would never want to sleep in seperate rooms.

It was actually a sign of high status up to the 1900's to have separate beds and bedrooms. In poorer families the children shared a room and 1 bed and the spouces shared a bed often in that same room. In really poor families EVERYONE slept in the same bed (how did they make more babies?! Tramatic). It's only within the last century that couples, in civilized society, sleep in the same bed. Even up to the 1950s couples would share a room but be in separate beds. so it's not that weird if you think about history as a whole.

My husband and I spend the week in separate beds in separate rooms. He takes the guest bedroom with a cozy queen and tv, and I take the master with the 2 kiddos. He wakes up insanely early 6 days a week and hates to wake the kids up when starting his day. So, he sleeps in the other room. On his days off, he is in bed with myself and our son while our 8 month old sleeps in the crib near us. 
I know many people will not agree with this sleep arrangement, but it works for our family. Sleep is so important to us and we want to make sure that we are always at our best for not just the kids or work, but for each other. And sleep deprivation doesnt allow that most times lol. 
And to be honest, when we have alone time in the guest bedroom, it's almost like we are sneaking around and dating again lol. 
After 12 years together and 2 kiddos, sleep becomes sleep.

The only couple I knew that slept in different beds got divorced because it felt like they were roommates instead of husband and wife.

my husband and i always sleep in the same but  ut theres been times where we dont if some of us is sick (usually its him) one will sleep in the living room for while so the other person  doesnt get sick or if im having bad night were i cant sleep ill go in another room to watch something or play game so i dont wake him

Same bed, always. We both agreed that for us different beds is never. An option. Going to bed together is when we both talk and wind down from our day. I feel like if we lose that we will lose our closeness

I think I’d have to have like a cot or a chaise in another bedroom for the nights I can’t sleep with my partner. I get horrible nightmares and when I sleep with them they are more vivid and traumatic. I’d have to have nights I was by myself. That’s just me though 🤷🏻‍♀️
