FTM: does getting induced hurt???

Exactly what the title says. I’m a week away from my due date and my doctor said if I don’t dilate more soon (stuck at 1cm for 3 weeks now) then I’ll have to get induced.

Of course! 😂😂😂 Having a BABY hurts. Inducing is only SLIGHTLY more intense, but also it’s usually a faster process. This obviously varies for each woman, but the former is typical for most. Relax, you’re going to be fine. It’s painful, but the most REWARDING pain you have ever experienced! (We have 7! Must not be TOO bad ;)

It doesn’t hurt anymore than natural labor. The bonus is you’re at the hospital the whole time and sometimes that results in you being able to get something for the pain sooner

Cytotec (the pill they put in your cervix) doesn’t hurt so bad but cervidil hurts like a bitch! Also, pitocin contractions are thee absolute worst!

Not really I live in Scotland, and they gave me the pessary & gel, don’t get me wrong it’s comfy but not sore. When it kicks in then it does get a bit sore, being induced is way more painful that your water breaking on their own
