Ladies planning on working from home?

Any ladies planning on working from home or doing something small on the side? I need some ideas lol

I have worked from home for 6 years. I have a 17 month old son and am pregnant again. Working from home with one child is SO much harder than I ever dreamed. There are times I simply CAN’T meet deadlines, and there are times I feel I’m neglecting my son for work. There are days it feels impossible to do good at both work and caring for my son. (Forget the house work or cooking- I have time to cook maybe one evening a week and the house is a mess most days.) With that being said, every time I think about putting my son in daycare I can’t do it. With all the hardships, I love being here for him for all of his milestones and we have a lot of fun together. So, I wake up early, I stay up long after his bedtime, all to try and make time for work and “play” with him. I have to spend most evenings working instead of relaxing with my husband. I’m going to have to go part-time or less after our second baby arrives, but we’ll have to adjust our lifestyle to swing it. Overall I recommend it, but I warn you - don’t go into it being naive.  You’ll be a “stay at home mom” and a “working mom” at the same time, the best and worst parts of both worlds come along. My biggest piece of advice is set up a solid routine, strict meal / nap / play times, that helps you plan and the baby know what to expect. Good luck!

Me too!!! I would take any advice or help finding a work from home job. I so badly want to work for my own sake but it isn’t logical with daycare costs after school care.

I currently work from home and it is sooo tough! I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m currently cuddling my 2 year old on the couch instead of being off at work somewhere but the struggle of dedicating “work time” vs “mom/wife time” is soooo difficult. It definitely has its pros & cons for sure.

I’m currently a paralegal and love it, but unless they let me do remote part time, I’ll have to quit. Thankfully, we are well off thanks to my husbands job, but it doesn’t make sense for me to work to basically pay for someone else to raise my child Monday - Friday!
