Wash question

Moms of a mixed stash, how do you decide on a good wash routine?

I have a smaller stash (currently 24 pockets/ AIO’s. Mixed unbranded, rumparooz, alvas, best bottoms, Charlie banana, funky fluff. Some say wash hot, others say wash covers cold to protect imaging/ designs on the cover.

Currently I’m washing inserts together in hot. And all covers in a separate load, cold. I don’t really have enough covers to divide by brand and wash that way. I got a wash routine from someone experienced online, but it includes washing hot and I’m not sure if it’ll affect some negatively?

Suggestions? Help? What works for you?
