Telling your best friend that is dealing with infertility you’re pregnant?

My very best friend has been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. She has tried clomid, IUIs, I’ve even been the one to give her shots. I have seen her cry because she can’t conceive. I didn’t even have the heart to tell her me and my husband were going to start trying. I just found out that I am pregnant and even though I am so excited a part of me is sad because I know it will hurt her. Can anyone offer advice on how I should tell her?

I had the same scenario with my best friend. It depends on her really...i told my friend via text because i knew that this way she could be alone to express her true emotions, process and message me when she was ready. It was the right thing for my friendship with her. Initially she didn't reply it took time, but eventually she called me and we spoke about it. She was not 100% interested in the whole pregnancy which did hurt my feelings and a few times i felt angry at her for not being 'happy for me'but towards the end of my pregnancy she visited lots and she said she was genuinely happy for me. Since he has been born she has started her IVF journey and we speak ofren. It is still hard as i try not to talk about my son unless she asks me about him as i don't want to rub it in so to speak  and i am sensitive to her emotions. It does take time. Basically, be honest and sensitive, give her the time and space she needs and if she is a good friend she  will come talk when ready. It just takes time. Good luck. It is tough

Tell her over text so she has the opportunity to feel her feelings without being forced to immediately react happily. Don’t apologize for being pregnant or make it all about her— just tell her the news, and let her know you understand if she needs a bit of time to digest it.

I fortunately didn’t have to have medical intervention, but was told I had less than a 10% chance of conceiving naturally. I have PCOS and Stage IV endometriosis at time of diagnosis, but diminished my PCOS symptoms with diet and greatly reduced the endo. My best friend got pregnant from a one night stand before I was able to conceive, and I was over the moon excited when she told me she was keeping him. I knew she would make the best mom. I’ve never been one to get upset over other people getting pregnant, even when I wasn’t myself, because that doesn’t make sense to me. If you’re worried about it I would just sit her down and tell her. I think doing a reveal type thing would hurt more for people who get upset over those things? But I’m not entirely sure.

Definitely tell her, my bestie got pregnant the month after I had an early miscarriage. She knew I’d hurt a little a kept it hidden from me for just one day because it was a month to the day I lost my pregnancy. I was soooooooooooo excited!!!!! So excited. I was a little sad but I quickly got over it because she’s a great mumma and I was expecting It to happen (she tells me everything 💕 ). I was a little sad she couldn’t tell me sooner but I appreciated her sensitivity around it 💕💕
