So my boyfriend and I have been dating almost a year now and we are both completely in love and committed to each other, which might sound crazy to some since we are 18. He is my first love and we both wouldn’t want to be with anyone else. But he just left for college (early because he’s playing football) and I leave at the end of August. We are going to try as hard as we can to make it work, by my parents are very disapproving and want me to break up with him because they feel I will miss out in college. I am not going to do that.

He is going to a smaller school in Chicago to play football, while I am going to NIU, which is about an hour away, which is not too bad. I plan to visit him every so often and maybe go to a few of his games and we will see each other but I also do not want to try to visit him a crazy amount since I want to make the most of my college experience as well.

I guess I am just freaking out and asking for advice from anyone, on what to do or if you have any experience or stories in this area.
