My mom (white woman)was renting an apartment from this guy who used to hit on her and make sexual comments to her regularly. He also owned a car repair shop, he noticed a dent in her car and offered to fix it for a discount, she accepted even though the guy was a creep because it was a good discount. When she went to pay, he told her the price was triple what he had quoted. No call before the repair to advise it was more work than expected and that it would be more money and ask if she still wanted it done. My mom refused to pay. Her boyfriend (black man) went to have a conversation with the jerk about the situation because my mom was really upset and when she’s upset she cries and can’t collect her thoughts. My moms boyfriend is super friendly, and calm, I’ve literally never heard him even raise his voice in 6 years they’ve been together. He can have a logical discussion when you don’t necessarily agree with what he’s saying but it never gets ugly. Landlord DoucheFace called the police and told them a ‘large black man was threatening him.’ Police responded and asked that my moms boyfriend not enter assholes office again. They didn’t do anything about the sexual harassment, they didn’t get involved at all with the money. But they told the Scary Black Man to leave the poor innocent white man alone.
