Gallstones???

Question

so randomly, I guess after I eat certain things, I get this pinpointed dull but painful ache in my upper right abdomen. of course I googled it, and now I'm all scared it's gallstones and I'll need surgery while pregnant lol. anyone have gallstones while pregnant and NOT have to be cut open?? that sounds terrifying and I'd be so worried about baby :( I see the Dr on the 8th so I'm asking then, but anyone with good news would be appreciated lol

I had gallbladder attacks during my second trimester with my first daughter. I went to the ER in the middle of the night because I woke up with severe stabbing pain throwing up until the point that my belly was shaking pretty scary I was worried about the baby, once I got in they controlled the pain with medication until they could figure out what was going on it ended up I was having a gallbladder attack and that I would be able to go home if I kept a healthy diet stopping oily food etc. and that in case it happened again I would have to go back and that surgery would be and option before I hit my third trimester due that in that in the third trimester the baby starts growing faster and it make the surgery procedure riskier that if you get it during the second trimester. I went home I didn’t even wanted to eat anything due to that I was scared of putting my baby in danger. anyways three/four days latter after I went home again I woke up in the middle of the night to the pain I laid down to wait for the pain to go away but it didn’t the pain was just getting stronger and the nausea was horrible so we decided to go back to the ER again all my badly was shaking I couldn’t stand on my self and I was already two days of my third trimester the doctor came in and he told us that it was better for me to have surgery because after going home following their guidelines to prevent it from happening again and it happened again with in a week was a huge concern to him so he scheduled me to do surgery first thing in the morning even though we were putting the baby in danger due that anything could go wrong during surgery. Thankfully we went in to surgery and got out safe they were no complications only that they had to put more anesthesia to me because I woke up in the middle of surgery, we stayed few days recovering and to make sure I was ok to go home once I did I had to go back to school due to that I had all this going on mid September, a week latter after I left the hospital I had the same pain problem but this time we went to the ER they couldn’t figure it out what was going on because I had already had surgery due to that problem so in their point of view they had already solved the issue so they had to transfer me to a different hospital but this time the pain was stronger and even the pain medicine was not working they had to switch to the strongest pain medication but it still didn’t work so I was in agony and thinking If my baby was ok once they had everything ready to transfer me the ambulance came and took us the worst part is that the route to get to the hospital was heavy traffic (memorial city to medical center in Houston, Tx) it felt like hours to get there but once I finally got there the ran a bunch of exams they did from x-rays to MRI’s etc. I’m still in pain and can’t take any naps due to the pain I felt extremely exhausted after a day almost two days the found out that the incision from the surgery was still not completely healed and that due to my daughter growing and movement she might of hurt the incision but that there was no bile liquid leaking so that was a good news because if it was that it could of affected the uterus probably harming the baby. But thank god we both made she was born healthy on December 14 2016 7lb 10oz, and now she will be a big sister I’m due in February 2019 with baby #2. After everything I went through I been having low appetite and afraid it could happen again due to that the internal body take longer to heal and all the body changes of pregnancy and healing after delivering, but is just me I’m just always scared to eat.

This is my daughter when she was 6 moths old.

I just went through this. I had to get my gallbladder out though. I would go to doctor immediately because the safest and really the only time to take it out during pregnancy is 2nd trimester. Mine was so far advanced that it would be life threatening if it wasn’t removed. You definitely don’t want to get to a point where it gets way worse and they are forced to operate when you are even farther along. The pain for me was so debilitating though, if it is manageable the doctor might just have you watch your diet until the baby comes. If you do end up having surgery, do not worry... the surgeons all told me that they do this operation on pregnant women ALL the time and they have so many precautions that they take to make sure to protect you and baby. Hope you start feeling better soon!

I had terrible attacks and gallbladder pain during pregnancy. I cut out all fat, dairy, caffeine. I held off my surgery that way and didn’t get it removed until my baby was 6 months old. I literally ate no fat at all. Good luck!

I believe a gallbladder attack is massively painful. I'm guessing because I work in the general surgery unit and see a lot of lap chole (short hand for gallbladder removal). It's something to get checked out but likely indigestion or a bout of gastritis that may come and go and relieved with rantidine...just get it checked but stop looking at webMD.

I had them bad when I was pregnant. They put me on a diet and they removed it after my twins were born.

my sister in law had gallstones while preganant she had to do a ERCP I guess it will depend on how many stones how far along are you?
