Can you easily find your IUD strings?

I have a really hard time finding my iud strings. I’ve never been able to find them actually. My gyno said she cut them very short when she did them but it still freaks me out. Can you find yours easily? And I dont know do you have any advice on finding mine?

I can usually feel mine but there are occasions when my cervix is really high and I either can’t feel them or can’t reach my cervix. If I could never feel them I’d probably get a checkup from the doctor to be sure. They may have cut the strings too short and they flipped back up through the cervix but it’s good to know if that’s the case.

Feel up for your cervix, it will feel like the hole of a small donut, then your strings should be poking out of there.

I’ve never felt mine except when i first got it three days after insertion I felt them at the very opening of my cervix. My doctor purposely cut them short. After that I’ve never felt them for sure. There’s been a couple times where I think I felt the very tips of them because I felt something pokey but I’m not sure. I think mine I barely inside my cervix and I can’t feel them because they are stuck on the wall of my cervical canal.

my cervix is really high up. she said she cut them to 3cm. I've had the IUD for 3 weeks. I've felt both strings twice. recently felt one string and realized the second was wrapped around the first. it has me nervous but they are tucked up along the outer side of the cervix.

Mine always advised me to swirl my finger around my cervix because sometimes the strings can get stuck up against the outside. Maybe that will help? If you can’t feel them I would call your OB and let them know. Better safe than sorry!!
