Boyfriends Brother Did not Invite me To His Wedding?

Question

So I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years and last year my BF’s brother sent an invitation to our house with only my BF’s name on it lol. My bf asked if he could bring me as a plus one and his brother and new wife flat out said no. 
Anyways I’m still kind of hurt from this and I will be getting engaged/married soon. Should I make my BF’s brother’s wife a plus one and not even acknowledge her? Just out of spite or is it too petty? I just think it’s so rude that even when my Bf politely asked if I could go to their wedding they said no it’s only for close family. I have known their family longer then my BF’s brother’s wife. Also my BF’s aunt , mom and cousins wanted me to go but I was not invited. 
So is it too petty for me to not even acknowledge the wife on the invitations I send out?

If the wedding was really small with only family going then I could understand them not including any SO. But, you mentioned how you’re about to start planning your wedding so you’re about to be family as well. So I do think it’s very rude not to invite you or allow you to become a plus one. 
I’d totally just invite the brother and allow the wife to be his plus one. Yes it’s petty, but if we’re going to be SILs then she can either treat me like family and get the same respect or be treated like someone I don’t know.

Some people don’t include plus ones. Weddings are expensive, each person invited costs money, and some people just want something small and intimate. While I don’t agree with people not including plus ones, it’s their wedding

Is it petty? Maybe. Should you do it...I think so! However I may just feel that way because I’ve been with my man for 10 years and we have recently gotten invites from his friends where it was my his name, plus one....as if he was going to bring anyone but me. It just seems so rude and sort of calculated because my natural instinct would always be to put both names and invite both. So I totally get the frustration (and yours was worse considering they didn’t even let you go). I absolutely think your wedding, your rules. Don’t put her name.

It’s super petty. If they’re applying a blanket rule for all girlfriend/boyfriends, then you should give them the same invite you’d give any husband and wife. Unless they’re specifically excluding just you from the wedding, then it’s nothing personal. 
Also, you say you’re getting married but he’s only your boyfriend? Lots of weddings don’t invite boyfriend or girlfriends but would invite a Fiancée/fiancé. That also explains it.
