How do you know you’re ready for marriage??

Question

I’ve been with my bf for a yr and he’s ready to get married. We’ve been thru a lot this year but we always beat the odds and managed to push thru. I’m happy with him and he is with me, I know I don’t want no one else, he feels the same. He keeps hinting at marriage and although I know I only want him and everything, I’m still a lil scared of marriage. I question whether not I’m ready for real. How do you know for sure you’re ready??

If you’re questioning it, you’re not ready. 
I always wonder though, what do people even mean when they say ‘we’ve been through a lot’ I see that said in almost all of these types of marriage posts

so I got married almost a year ago, at that point we were living together almost 2 years but I kinda knew right away this was the only man I want to be with forever. it was just a gut feeling and he always brought it up in conversation, like what I thought about it and how I would feel about it. just openly talk about it see what the other thinks. I honestly dont think your ever ready but you'll know in your heart and gut when you are. best of luck ❤❤

It was a gut feeling, but we also made a strong effort to discuss all the “big things” before making the commitment-
So money was discussed and how we would pay for/afford things, Children etc. but talk about your fears with him-
