I don’t get along with my mom...

My adoptive mother and me do not get along. She’s controlling, hostile, manipulative, and self centered. We have done nothing but argue for the past 10-15 years. I haven’t seen her in over 3 years because of this. In fact we didn’t talk at all for two of those.

I’m pregnant with twins now and I don’t know if I want to tell her. She claims to love me, my daughter, and husband. But that love is very conditional. When she doesn’t get her way she harasses us and spreads lies about us to anyone who will believe her.

I have a wonderful relationship with my birth family as well as my husbands family. So I am not worried about support systems. I just don’t know how to handle this.
