First appointment?

So I’m 15, pregnant and I have my first doctors appointment soon. I just told my parents about it today and I am so blessed to have them. They were upset but they’re supportive and told me they’re here for me. :)) I was just wondering what I should expect at the first appointment? Thanks :)

At my first appt, I had an ultrasound, urine sample, papsmear to check for any type of infection/std’s, went over medical history, then they sent me to get bloodwork at the hospital because my ob doesnt do it in office.

I’m glad you have a good support system with them! The first appointment is honestly super boring but really important because if you have any issues regarding family medical history, it may prompt your doctor to do extra genetic testing. They wanna know a lot about your family’s medical history (cancer, blood pressure, stroke/seizures, asthma, heart conditions, etc), you’ll have a lot of paperwork to fill out, tons of questions to answer (and if you have any, be sure to ask them!), and might have blood work done if the phlebotomist is available. Depending on how far along you are at the time of the appointment, they may do an ultrasound to capture approximate measurements and a more accurate due date. :)

At my first appointment they asked a BUNCH of questions , drew blood , collected a pee sample , tested for any STDs or infections. Did weight , height , & blood pressure (they do this at every appointment) and they checked baby's heartbeat with Doppler (only bc I was 12wks at the time) I think that's it I'm trying to remember lol.

Congratulations! That’s wonderful that your parents are so supportive. I was a teen mom too, and had so much help thankfully. Previous posters covered just about everything they’ll likely do at your 1st appt, but I wanted to add that they may do an internal exam/PAP smear. I believe I recall having that done at my 1st appt.
