Age to start Sleep Training?

My baby girl will be 10 weeks old on Wednesday, so far she's been bedsharing with us and will not sleep in her crib or the pack n play beside our bed. I've read that I can gently sleep train now (I'm thinking of a happy medium between the Farber method and the no cry method), where as other things I've read says not to until they're 4 months or older. 
If you did sleep train (regardless of the method you chose), how old was your baby and do you have any tips to offer? I just want to be very informed before diving into this, because I dont want to get halfway through an awful night just to change my mind about how we're doing things.

5 months. I highly recommend reading The Happy Sleeper . I think it is right in line with what you want to do. It’ll give you great tips & things to do now, but actually sleep training starts after 5 months when they developmentally are able to self soothe.

We started “sleep training” around 6 weeks. At that time we were purely establishing a bedtime routine, so not even really sleep training. 
We wanted to have a healthy sleep foundation so that she knew what to expect every night to indicate bedtime. It worked fairly well. She would go to bed about the same time every night and wake up about the same time every morning. 
Recently we’ve started to really sleep train and it has worked. Our daughter will be 8 months next week though she has never slept through the night (and I don’t expect her to), she can put herself to sleep without a fuss, sleeps in 6-8 hour blocks at night, and takes 1-1.5 hour naps during the day. 
We did I believe the Ferber. We don’t let her cry, but she does fuss. So we’d let her fuss for a few mins before intervening. Then made the intervals longer. If she ever truly cried, we’d comfort her and start over.

I definitely wouldn’t do “cry it out” at 10 weeks but I did let my daughter fuss since birth at bedtime. She’s been sleeping threw the night, putting herself to sleep from being layed down awake since 8-10 weeks. There is a difference in a fuss and a cry. If my daughter cry’s I react pretty much immediately (she will be 5 months in a few days) but just fussing I typically let occur for 5-10 minutes.

I started to sleep train at 6 months and by 8 months he was completely sleeping in his room.
It took a little while because I’d cave in and bring him to my bed during the sleep regression phase. 
My advice is to first get your baby use to being in the crib. Try putting her in it during nap times! Once my son was comfortable with taking his naps in there it made it easier with bedtime . We also used a sound machine and I’d put something close to his crib that smelled like me which I think helped too lol.

We did at 4 months. Did a modified CIO. Before that we just tried to instill good sleep habits like routines before bed.
