baby movement during contractions?

in the middle of a contraction is it possible to feel babys little foot or something move if you place your hand on belly? I'm a FTM and will be 38 weeks in 2 days. and trying to figure out for sure if I'm feeling contractions or just the baby stretching? my belly will feel tight but even still when i lightly pushed on my side I was able to feel a little movement. not a lot. just a little.
