PAIN MEDICATION ADVICE

I was prescribed medication 3 days ago after oral surgery, and i don’t know if I’m over thinking it and psyching myself out because I’ve never taken pain meds before, or if they’re genuinely triggering these panic attacks, but it is not fun. I am directed to take them every 4-6 hours but I’ve only taken them 3 times since the surgery, the rest of the time I muscle through with ibuprofen, ice packs, and hot packs but the pain is pretty awful, My husband says I’m being crazy for dealing with the pain when I have pain medication to easily help, but I am over thinking them so badly. Does anyone have advice or experiences? Does pain medication commonly cause anxiety?
