Epidural Opinion and Experiences?!

Question

I'm nearing 37 weeks and have been going back and forth about epidural. I want to know some experiences with it because I'm quite scared of one! but I also do not have a huge pain thresh hold and think I might want to get one. 
I'm also nervous about the risks of getting one. I know Its my choice and that I dont need to make it until it's time but I think hearing some personal thoughts from women who have had one will help me.

I was trying to be all natural but for being in active labor for over 9 hours I cracked and got the epidural I was able to enjoy the birth of my son way more because of it. the only thing that was a down fall is I had numbness in my left thigh for a week after. if I have the option this time around and my labor is not quick I'll get the epidural again.

I don't remember much about my daughter's birth because I was basically asleep after. Also 2 years later I started to get weird sharp pains near where the epidural was inserted. Is the epidural to blame? Unclear. Do I plan to get it again? Nope. Am I 100% committed to not getting it? Nope lol.

Would you get a root canal without Novocain? Haha that’s what my sister always says. I’m all for an epidural and pain free labor!

I was in labor for two days so I got one. I didn’t want to be too tired to push. I didn’t even feel the needle. It really wasn’t bad at all. BUT, after about an hour, it no longer worked on my right side and I felt every contraction on 16 pitocin. The dr came back in to fix it and it lasted like ten minutes. I ended up with a csection and they just used the epidural instead of a spinal block and he pumped me up so much the right side was numb again(thank God). I had no complications from it

I know there’s a whole movement against them, but I had a wonderful birth experience with mine. I wanted it from the beginning. Had it for the last 6 hours of a 16 hour labor. I felt calm and present during my daughter’s birth. I did not have any of the serious negative side effects, my daughter latched great from the beginning and that began a two year BF journey. I’m pregnant with my second and I plan to get one again if I have the option.

Honest to god, I would have tapped out without the epidural. The pain was almost unbearable when they gave it to me, and went away COMPLETELY when they first gave it. A couple hours later when I was finally dilated enough to push it was excruciating again...  I can’t even imagine how bad it would have been without. Chics who do that s*** naturally have bigger balls than me, I’ll tell you that much.
