Double stroller

Ok I’m really struggling on tandem versus side by side. I live in a suburban / somewhat rural area but will move to a suburb closer to the city in a year or so. I use my stroller primarily for walks outside, going into mall/stores, going to parks and what not. It comes in and out of my mid size suv trunk frequently so I’d like it to be relatively easy to fold. I will have an almost 2.5 year old and newborn and I’d like to put the infant seat for second baby in it facing me. I like the maneuverability and how close the kids are to me in the side by side but worry it will be too bulky and hard to use in stores and small places. The kid in the front of the tandem seems so far away. What are your thoughts? Any recommendations?
