Baby’s trying to come early

I am sorry for the long post, but I’ve never been more afraid in my entire life. I’ve been crying and praying non stop, I am not able to sleep or concentrate and I just had to vent somewhere.

So I am a FTM at 33+2 weeks with a baby girl, and I’ve been having a pretty normal and healthy pregnancy up until a month ago. I was having some contractions and pains, but I wrote them off as BH and round ligament pains. During a regular checkup at 30 weeks, they found that I am suddenly 60% effaced and that the baby has dropped. I got two rounds of steroid shots, progesterone suppositories, weekly progesterone shots and was put on bed rest.

My contractions continued regularly every day, and just when I would think okay I need to go to the hospital they would stop, so I thought nothing of it.

4 days ago, I went for a checkup, and I was having contractions 2 mins apart, I was 100% effaced and 4cm dilated. They admitted me to the hospital gave me a bunch of medication to stop the labor two more rounds of steroid shots, and they said that if I dilate 1 more cm in the next two hours they would perform an emergency c section.

Luckily I did not, and today I finally came home. The goal now is to make it to at least the 20th of August, and hopefully she wouldn’t need to spend time in the NICU.

And to top it all, the baby keeps pushing on my cervix! She stretches her legs as far as she can and pushes on my cervix (or what’s left of it anyway) with full force.

I can’t stop reading about preemies and survival rate and developmental complications.

If anyone can share their experience, I would be really grateful.
