Group B strep?

Anyone else get a group b strep test done? I’m 33 weeks pregnant. My doctor said he will do it next visit. What can I expect to be done?

They swab the vaginal area. Group B Strep is very common, happens in every 1 to 5 women. If you’re positive, it doesn’t harm you or baby at all, they will just give you antibiotics, most likely through your IV while you’re giving birth. They just found more babies get sick when the mother had group b strep than mothers who didn’t.

I had mine done 2 weeks ago and my doctor swabbed my vagina and rectum... just a heads up in case yours does too

I just did mine 2 weeks ago and honestly I didn’t really feel anything. It’s like a q-tip they rub inside it took my dr 2 seconds

They just swab your vaginal area. That's it. It's nothing bad if you test positive it's fine they just put a cream on you during birth to protect baby.

When you go into labor, they start antibiotics so baby will be born without it. Not dangerous to you but dangerous to baby if they were to get it. It’s a bacteria
