Preeclampsia 7 days after my c-section
I had a c-section on August 4th, and at 11:25 am I heard my baby girl cry for the first time. We both stayed in the hospital until Monday August 6th, and finally were able to go home. Everything was going well with our recovery except for the fact that my swelling got worse and had moved up my to my thighs. On August 11 out of nowhere my head started throbbing and feeling like it was going to explode, this was followed by dizziness and sensitivity to light. My mom/husband stayed with the baby while my dad took me to the ER, I assumed I would get a shot for pain and go home. I was soooooo mistaken. My BP was 190/105 and my HR was very low at 40 (should be over 60), and the throbbing in my head was worsening. Things started moving very quickly and the next thing I knew, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and admitted to the hospital (again). All I could think about was being without my baby girl and cried my eyes out. My husband rushed up to be with me and my mom is watching over my 8 day old precious baby girl. They gave me meds for the high BP and magnesium for 24 hours, plus pain meds for the pain in my head. I’m so devastated and just want to go home, I literally can’t believe I was diagnosed with preeclampsia AFTER my baby was born (I knew it could happen, but never expected it). I miss my baby 💔😢
