Welcoming Baby Girl Laila Brooke Williams

Laila was born July 19th at 3:26am at 39w+6. My Labor was induced after a trip to the hospital where it was discovered her fluids were low. 6 hours and 2 epidurals (1st one failed) later she arrived at a healthy 7lbs8 oz and 20 inches.

This experience was completely different then my son who was born in 1 hour and 15 mins completely natural. My second experience proved that every pregnancy and every birth is different and you should not compare or try to use one as a point of reference. Both my babies are healthy and happy and in the end that’s all that matters!

We should not be so hard ourselves with “our birth plans” that go to hell when the sh$t hits the fan. We should be more empowering and supportive of one another regardless of what those plans are. Because in the end the miracle of life is still the same.
