Baby’s surname

So I want to hyphenate my baby boys surname.

Myself and my partner aren’t married and probably won’t get married in the near future.

I thought that the baby having BOTH my maiden name and daddy’s surname was a great and fair idea.

I’ve never wanted to have a different name from my kids, so this seems like a compromise to me.

My partner hates the idea though.

He won’t marry me, and won’t let me hyphenate either..... What should I do moving forward?

It bothers me!
