I'm not being unfair right?

So the father of my baby and I had a name picked out. He picked it out and I said it was ok. I didn't like it but he seemed to get super attached to the name. He chose the name at like 16 weeks. Now at 31 weeks he's not in the picture. Hasn't been since 30. Since he's no longer helping me out i can change the name right? Since I don't like it or is that unfair?

Also if he’s definitely not going to be in the picture in the future, would you really want your kid to have a name that you already don’t like, that also reminds you of him and his choosing a name you didn’t like?

I would choose the first name and maybe give the name he choose as a second. To tell the baby later on that daddy named the baby that name.  In that case if the relationship come together again he would still have been part of the naming process and because of the baby.. when it grows older.. you hope ot has a good solid relationship with its dad but if in some case that does not happen at least it seems like dad cared a bit by naming the child.
