Early intervention?

Can anyone tell me about their experiences with early intervention when it comes to speech? My daughter is 15 months and doesn’t say any real words yet (on purpose anyways).  What would do they do to try to help her?

They will come in and evaluate her and see if it’s a necessity. More often than not, even if it’s just a tiny delay, they’ll recommend whatever therapy necessary to move her progression along. My son had speech, occupational therapy, behavioral (also called special instructor) and physical therapies. They came in for an hour each, once a week. He had them until he was three and now works with an intermediate unit and his preschool.

At the 18 month visit my daughter had 3-4 words she used inconsistently. Her pediatrician wanted me to call in for an early intervention referral if she didn’t have 3-4 more words by 21 months. She’s 20 months now and has picked up 3 words in the last two weeks. 
So no personal experience, but sharing hat I have a bit of a late bloomer... and some of her words aren’t crystal clear, but the pediatrician said as long as it’s clear what she means, it counts. 
We gave up the paci 2 weeks ago and I doubt the sudden vocabulary increase is a coincidence. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t have my own experiences but I have a friend that was able to start speech therapy with her son when he was about 15-18 months. Have you talked to the child’s pediatrician yet? Let them know your concerns and they can help you from there.

Im in the same situation and wondering as well. My daughter is 19 months and I feel she's behind in speech.
