Bassinet or Pack and Play?

Question

FTM and was originally thinking I’d have my newborn in a docatot in my bed during the night when he’s first born. After reading up, dockatot is not overnight sleep approved so thats out. 
Curious if I should put him in a pack and play to sleep in our room or go with a bassinet?
Would love some advice! Thanks in advance.

I would go with pack n play. they can use it wayyyy longer than a bassinet and most people don't even use the bassinet very much when they do by them. I use a pack n play

Pack n play will last longer. This is the one I am getting. Just lower when baby reaches weight limit and take mobile off when baby can sit up.

I have a pack and play and a halo bassinet. My friend was getting rid of her halo and it was almost brand new. I got It for a STEAL. I probably would only have had the pack and play if I hadn’t lucked out with it.

I’m planning on a pack and play with bassinet and changer on top. I feel like I’ll get a lot more use out of it than just a bassinet

This is what was recommended to me and it's rated for co sleeping or can go in a crib. It can also fold flat for easy carrying or storage

Following! With my first we used a pack and play. This time we have a house so more room and more money so I could buy both. But super don’t like being wasteful. There is something so cute and sweet about bassinets, but I’m just not sure if it is practical. 
I have decided (so far) to not buy the bassinet attachment for the stroller I purchased. The car seat attaches to the frame and the actual seat reclines to horizontal. So I’ve figured out exactly one thing so far. 😆
