How to get oil stains out of baby shoes?

So today my husband had the idea that we take our 7 month old to play outside in her walker under our car port. I moved the car, got her dressed, put her little shoes/slippers (they’re made of cotton & polyester) on & took her outside. It wasn’t until she ran right through it that I realized the huge oil stain on the concrete I had from an oil leak earlier this year hadn’t dried up like I had thought & it got allllll over her shoes. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I brought her inside, took her shoes off & took them straight to the sink. I poured Dawn dish soap all over them & scrubbed them with an old tooth brush to really get the soap in there. I put them in the washer with some Dreft & now I’m praying....

Any other tips to get oil stains out? I have no issue whatsoever with buying her new shoes but I would like to save these ones if it’s possible mainly for memories sake.
