Advice?

So my daughter is 18 days old and almost always refuses to sleep in her bassinet. I thought if I could establish a bedtime routine that would help, but I'm having problems doing that. I was wondering if any other mommies had advice for both establishing a routine and getting her to sleep in her own bed.

Yeah sleeping routines dont work with newborns. You revolve around them. Try swaddling or having baby sleep on their side instead of back. Or maybe shes a tummy sleeper. Mine has ALWAYS slept on her stomach. There was no other way she would sleep. Shes 13mo now and still only sleeps on her stomach

What kind of mattress do bassinets have?? Maybe it's too hard, my baby is 3 weeks and she sleeps well in her playard, I added a mattress to it that's soft and didn't just leave that ugly thin one it comes with.

There was a time when my son hated the bassinet although I’m not sure how many days/weeks old he was. We put him in the rock n play instead until I read they shouldn’t sleep in them. I put him back in the bassinet and he was fine. Not sure what caused him to not like it for a time but maybe try again

Unless she’s on a slight incline our daughter won’t sleep. She was in her bassinet 2 very fussy nights then we invested in a rock and play and that’s where she sleeps. There are occasional nights she will sleep a little bit in the pack and play but if she is restless and fussy we go to the rock and play. I know there are strong opinions about it but do what you have to do and if it makes you feel better, talk to your doctor and get their opinion.

I also had the bassinet fight and learned that she just hates being flat on her back no matter where it is. Talked  to her doc and she said it could be reflux or just that she’s not comfortable in that position. She’s 2 months old and sleeps in her rock and play. I was a little hesitant at first, but her doc gave the ok. PlEASE NOTE: I’ve read conflicting “rules” on this so don’t take my word for it. Please consult with a doctor before making a decision like that. 😍

Start from the beginning was she always sleeping in her bassinet or co sleeping? Is she being held a lot while sleeping? These can be somethings that preventing her now from sleeping alone. Swaddling definitely helps. And babies shouldn't sleep on their stomachs. That runs a high risk of SIDS.
