I just don’t get people 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

Today I attended a BBQ with my husband’s work colleagues.

Someone there asked if we lived together. We said yes and it’s our second wedding anniversary next month. Then I knew what was coming - “no kids yet?” Other people who knew about our mc were there too so I said “we very sadly had a loss last month” she gasped and said “that’s not good. I had a couple of those but you get over it” 🤨

She then said “I guess I just wasn’t meant to have children. But you’re young. Just keep trying. It’s nature’s way because there’s a problem” etc etc 😑

We swiftly changed the subject. My husband asked me literally about 10 times afterwards if I was okay “are you sure? Are you sure you’re sure??” There was also a 5 month old baby there he helped me to avoid. He was being such a love all day 💕

I’ve had some stupid stuff said to me by people who haven’t experienced losses but it’s almost harder to hear it from people who have. I know everyone handles things differently but I kinda wish people would just stick to “I’m sorry” and let that be that. Sigh.
