Dry scalp and dandruff

I’m 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and currently suffering from dry scalp and dandruff(mind you this is my first pregnancy)! I’ve never had this issue before the pregnancy and just need some advice. My first doctors visit is September 17th 🙄 so I have a bit of a wait to speak with medical advice. So I was hoping you ladies could give me some sort of advice in this situation. I went and bought head and shoulders, but nervous to use it just in case it’s a no no. I haven’t seen my boyfriend in almost 2 weeks because he’s been away with his job, I don’t want to kill the mood when he comes home with my dry scalp and dandruff lol. I hope I’m not sounding crazy, just seeking some advice to calm the nerves and boost some self esteem!
