Do you have a joint account with your SO? 💵💏

My SO and I are thinking about getting one. If you do have one.. How long were you with your partner before you got one? If not, why? 
I’m just trying to get different opinions and all that

As soon as we got married we made a joint account. I pay the bills but we both work so it’s our money, not mine or his. He is very cautious about big purchases and will always ask how much money is in the bank before making them. It’s worked well for us for almost 7 years.

We don't have one at the moment but when we move (in a few months) we will have one! It will makes things so much easier especially house / decor shopping 😍

We don’t have joint accounts just for tax purposes but he knows my info and I know his we have credit cards together and he basically runs the finances and will be a signer on the account

We’ve been together for 2 years but lived together for the entire relationship (we were roommates first)! We have a baby on the way and both work full time with fairly equal pay (I’m an RN & he’s an electrician) so we just decided it’s easier this way! He manages the money as is because I’m terrible at it so we just decided it was time! I have no regrets and it works for us, we never fight about money and when I got my inheritance recently from my grandmother I put it in my account until we decide what to do with it (I still have an account and credit card in my own name just because)! Anyways good luck 😊

I so strongly believe that you shouldn't get married if you have any problem joining all your accounts.  On the flip side, if you're not married I think it would be really unwise to join accounts.

we have one. we were together for a year when we got one together. we pay bills every wednesday and put aside any money that needs to go in savings.. then the rest is to spend on whatever.

I have an account and we have a joint account. It saves fights. Bills are paid out of both (mainly his because he makes more) but we both pay bills, we both have spending money and we don’t ever really have to worry.

Nope. I'm not sure we ever will. We both pay some of the joint bills, I pay my own phone and car payment, and he pays his own stuff. If we need to buy something bigger, we both just pay half. Seems to work for us.
