Why so much pressure

Why is there so much pressure on what major to have and what you are gonna do with your life. I just don’t know. I don’t know what to do. I can’t take it anymore. I just want to be successful and happy. I just feel like every little move I make is gonna affect my whole life and if I make one mistake my life is ruined and if I don’t get good grades and don’t take the right classes that I won’t get into the college I want to the program I want and that I will end up getting no job and then becoming homless and die alone.
