Please forgive me if this is in the wrong place

A little over a year ago one of my closest friends found out that her then 6 year old daughter has an incurable cancerous brain tumor and has an estimated two years to live. Thankfully it is spreading slower than they thought and she might live a bit longer than expected. But I don't know how to help my friend. Any one have any advice to help her? She says she feels bad because she's already grieving while her daughter is still alive but she's grieving their old life. I am at a lost on how to help her and dealing the loss of such a sweet girl myself.
