Home birth preparation?

30 weeks pregnant and I’m starting to think about what I need/want for my home birth. Any ladies with experience on home birth? What did you guys use? Any little things that helped you like candles, music? Would you suggest buying a birth tub or would my bathtub be ok? My midwife has a kit that I need to purchase it’s like $50 and that includes like towels, washcloths, pads but anything else that I need to get or do to prepare? Thanks!! 🙏🏻

I got a lot of great ideas from pinterest and youtube. Also just setting up your “space” like hanging birth affirmations, LED string lighting that can be dimmed or brightened and hung with command hooks, a newborn outfit and hat ready for babe after they get dried up and a few hours of skin to skin bonding, extra towels (cheap ones or ones you dont mind throwing out), a painters tarp you can place under the birth pool so you protect the floor, essential oils for masking any body odor or just therapeutic remedy, hair ties on deck, chapstick to keep lips moist for all the breathing, a music playlist that you created (try music that you know soothes you when youre sick) also dont forget food/snacks for your birth team. Your birth partners and support also need to take care of themselves

You can probably use your pool if its big enough! There’s a pool on Amazon, it’s a square intex brand one with fish on it that a lot of home birthing women use. I personally didn’t set up a photo ready birth space, I literally put a shower curtain liner on the floor and the tub on top of it. 
I think the things you need need are 
-premade snacks like energy balls, fruit&coconut water popsicles, apples and nut butter, simple stuff with protein! Laboraide is an awesome drink to have as well! 
-postpartum essentials like pads, water, chapstick, hair ties, peri bottle, herb bath, snacks for nursing, reusable nursing pads, things like that! 
Hmmm I’m trying to think. I’m sure I’ll think of more. It’s all about preferences! Comfy and yummy things!
